Right Living Right Intention

Live with integrity through ancient yogic wisdom.

Practical guidance for a life lived with mindful awareness and purposeful intention

As Spiritual practitioners of: Yoga, healing modalities, and psychic mediumship, having the right intention and living within a universal ethical framework is essential. It gives us a high vibrational foundation on which to evolve personally, and on which to serve others.

Having the right vibration can help in deepening your connection to the Soul and to Spirit / Shakti.

The wisdom traditions of Yoga, have for thousands of years, offering an enduring, universal and effective model to use for these purposes. Learn about the 5 Yamas (restraints) & 5 Niyamas (observances), which in the 8-fold path of Yoga, act as an instructional guide to living with Awareness and Right Intention.

Ancient Yogic Wisdom gave us a clear roadmap to consciousness.

As modern Mediumship & Yoga practitioners, this class gives you the timeless ethical framework to guide your Intention, and is shared with you in the context of the modern world that we live in.

In this philosophy Workshop we will touch on:

YAMAS:

  1. Ahimsa - Conscious non-violence. As Spiritual and Healing practitioners, Yogis, Mediums, Psychics, and teachers, we have a big responsibility of holding space for others as they navigate grief, trauma, and challenging situations. Ahimsa benefits ourselves and others by raising our vibration and allowing us to embody as well as emanate peace to ourselves and those we come into contact with.

  2. Satya - Truthfulness / Honesty is a quality that is foundational for Yoga practice and for Mediumship. When we practice Satya we are committed to being honest with ourselves, and creating the energy of integrity for our work with others. Through Satya, we learn to let go of the untruths of the fluctuating mind.

  3. Asteya - non-stealing is a practice that is not simply about the physical act of taking something which does not belong to us, but is also about bringing our awareness to the energy of lack, insecurity, wanting, and feeling incomplete, the roots of stealing. Asteya can bring our awareness to moments of insecurity. This awareness can bring us to integrate our experiences and hold a more equitable vibration.

  4. Brahmacharya - Although this Yama does mean celibacy, in the modern context of our world it is more about the right use of energy and our desires. How we use our energy impacts everyone and everything around us. Directing our energy into behavior that is aligned with DIvine intention, and re-focussing our desire to be aligned with Truth leads to more harmony.

  5. Aparigraha - non-greed or non-hoarding helps us to cultivate moderation, and to practice the important quality of letting go of attachments and expectations of certain results. As Mediums, we can be more present in the flow of Mediumship, focussing on the needs of Spirit rather than our own egoic desires.

NIYAMAS

  1. Saucha - Cleanliness of body, mind, spirit, and surroundings is an important aspect as we focus on our Yoga or Mediumship practice. Through Saucha, we are honoring the small self as a manifestation of the Spirit. This brings our vibration into harmony with Spirit / Shakti.

  2. Santosha - Contentment. Santosha allows us to be grateful for the gifts of the present moment. By practicing Santosha, we are able to let go of anxiety about the unknown possibilities of the future. As Mediums, Santosha helps us to be in the flow of presence with Spirit, accepting our abilities and trusting that what we are experiencing is true.

  3. Tapas - Discipline or Tapas, allows us to focus our passion and intention to serve and bring the energy of Spirit / Shakti into everything we do. This right Intention informs the energy that we project out into the world.

  4. Svadhyaya - Intentional Self-study helps us to start any practice from a place of connection with the Divine part of our Being, the Soul. The wisdom we seek is within our own Being. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra says: “Study thyself, discover the divine” II.44

  5. Isvara Pranidhana - Cultivating trust and surrendering shifts our relationship with the universe. With the practice of Isvara Pranidhana, we are letting go of the small self and rather making everything into an offering to the Infinite Spirit or Shakti.
