As a Yoga Teacher, I am inspired by the depth and breadth of the Holistic wisdom of Yogic Philosophy and practice. I guide people in a full practice, containing more than just the physical asana aspect of Yoga. In the Asana aspect, my specialisms are Slow Flow Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga, although I am versed in teaching a variety of styles. I have a deep respect for and love sharing, the richness of the various aspects of Yoga such as: Pranayama (breathwork), Mudras (Yogic hand seals), Mantra, Meditation, and philosophy. I endeavor to embody the beautiful philosophical teachings of Yoga in my everyday life and work. I include all aspects of Yoga in my personal daily practice as I honor the deep spiritual nature of Yoga and my ancestral roots.
I formally trained with accomplished Boston-based Teachers Larisa Forman and Vito Politano, gaining my 200-hour certification in April 2017, and studied Restorative Yoga with Jillian Pransky in New York. I continue to learn and evolve my practice and teaching every day; Yoga is not a static practice. My Yoga teachings are deeply rooted in the deep well of my ancestral heritage and traditions and informed by personal experience. I apply a modern day understanding of anatomy and alignment, which is ever-changing. I respect and cater to all bodies and ages breaking down any barriers to practice. I believe strongly in bringing into being, a full experience for the body and soul.
Learning, practicing and teaching yoga has become a deeply transformative process, it led me to the inception of ‘Parinama - Transformative Healing Arts’ where I am grateful to be able to share all of my learnings. Creating a holistic approach, I bring a healing intention to all my sharings: Yoga, Reiki, Trance Healing, and Mediumship. Yoga is a healing practice. I am dedicated to serving, by facilitating every individual’s personal healing journey and evolution.

Read a little bit about my journey with yoga and sharing this ancient practice.
I can recall two different experiences I had which relate to two different aspects of Yoga. When I was a child, my Mother and the Grandmothers from the Hindu family who lived next door to us would hold Hindu rituals in our home. We chanted in the tradition of Bhakti Yoga, and I was introduced to Mantras, Mudras, and Meditation, witnessing a Hindu Priestess manifesting sandoor (the red powder used to mark the third eye) through the power of chanting. It was fascinating and thrilling to know that through practice, so much that we don’t understand could be available to us. The second experience was watching my sister Tinu doing asana practice in 1970’s and 80’s England (when Yoga definitely wasn’t trendy). I used to flip through her Yoga book and try to copy the poses in the photographs. My sister took me to my first public yoga class when I was in my late teens.
I took some beach Yoga classes while vacationing in Malaysia in February 2016; it was glorious! I came back home inspired and started practicing regularly at my local studio The Yoga Loft in Marblehead. I couldn’t get enough. I was curious about the Teacher Training program offered later that year offered by teachers Larisa and Vito; I regularly attended their classes and felt an affinity with them. I had the thought that maybe I could maybe take the program the following year, with a view to teach yoga as part of my retirement plan when I turned 65. But as it happens fate led me to start the program in 2016, and I was drawn deeper into the practice in a way that transformed me forever. As part of the Teacher Training Program, we were lucky enough to be offered community teaching slots at The Yoga Loft. I signed up and taught my first class in April 2017, it was a very full class and I can’t remember taking a breath myself during the class! Teaching Yoga feels natural and beautiful to me, I feel so present and very grateful to be able to facilitate for others.
I think my favorite pose shifts all the time depending on how my body feels. As I get older I really appreciate any poses which help to release tension in the backs and hips. Malasana and Malasana variations are a definite go to create spaciousness and ease in the hips and low back This pose is also good for moving energy in the lower chakras helping to ground in the body and to support Menopause.
I draw inspiration for my classes from many sources, including Yoga Philosophy, Poetry, Mudras, the Moon phases, current astrology, and the seasons, as well as designing chakra-based sequences to move Prana. I am also inspired by the sensuality of dance-based movement and draw upon my rich Indian cultural heritage.
Outside of Yoga one of my lifelong passions is travel. I have been a world traveler my entire life. I always feel a sense of excitement when I board a plane. I have a curious disposition and love to learn about different cultures, to experience new environments, and to try local food and wine (especially with the local people if possible). One of the most beautiful aspects of travel is that you meet people from so many different places and yet you always come back to the realization that no matter who you are or where you are in the world, we all share common experiences; travel helps to understand Oneness.
